Cultivate Conversation On Your Page

Hey babe - Feeling like your Facebook page audience hates you or is ignoring you? I know that's not a great feeling and SUPER frustrating because you're probably posting like crazy, so what the heck?! đŸ˜”â€đŸ’«

The good news is that they prob don’t hate you, they prob just don’t know you.

Ask yourself, what types of things are you posting to cultivate connection? If your posts are just sell sell sell, that’s not going to do it. When you post an image and say "the cutest new spring arrivals are here!" What exactly are you expecting people to say in the comments? It's your job to give people a reason to create a flurry of engagement on every single post.

It is NOT their job to do the heavy lifting to carry your page. Hard truth - I know.

âžĄïž So what do you do? First it's time to be intentional with your posts vs just posting to post. A great place to start is to focus on building a community on your page OUTSIDE of sell sell sell.

We recommend coming up w 5 “sweet spots” aka 5 light topics about yourself that you can post about on a reg basis to cultivate community, connection and conversation.

My sweet spots would be: Topo Chico, Netflix reality shows, the Foo Fighters, my dogs and life in Philly.

These are all topics that are core to my personality, I can post about regularly and in real time because, no these SHOULD NOT be scheduled posts.

Sweet spots give your brand heart and personality - even major brands have personality behind sell sell sell. Think about Target, Wendy's, Coke - you might not see the face of the CEO but you if you love Target, you know what I mean when I refer to Targets personality.

More than giving your brand personality and things for you to post about - the idea behind sweet spots is to create brand association.

In my case if they see anything related to Topo Chico or the Foo Fighters, they would think of me and my brand. They would see my dogs as part of my brand, get to know them through pictures and feel a sense of connection to them. Netflix reality tv is an easy way to cultivate conversations with strong opinions and lots of dialogue without dipping into anything political. Posting about my life in Philly allows people to follow a continuous story line. This is why pregnancy and engagement updates work so well!

I am a service provider and apply this exact same method to my business. On TikTok we post 4:1 sweet spots to selling and on IG, my stories go hard on these, while we share about my life in carousel posts on the feed. I don't limit myself to just these topics, but giving yourself 5 will help you create the habit to give your brand a personality!

We'd love to hear what some of your sweet spots are! 🧡 Tell us on this post!
