Products With Benefits

⚡️ PRO TIP ⚡️ People do not search for terms like: dolman, batwing, cowl neck, side slit, drop waist, chinois, tabbed sleeves, smocking, french terry, etc...

Unless your ideal client is specifically visually impaired, there is no reason to describe what your product looks like with terms the general population is unaware of.

Keep in mind - the average reading level of Americans is 8th grade. No one is googling for a chinois top. (My reading level is far beyond 8th grade and I don't even know what that means. I just saw it on someone's product description and here we are.)

The features of your product don't need to be reiterated when we can see the item on our screens.

HOWEVER - what we cannot see and what is your job as as salesperson is to describe the benefits of the product. Paint your customers a picture of what life is going to be like if they have your product.

Even if your product is as simple as a sock. Honestly, I just found non slip no show socks that I LOVE! I had been looking for the perfect non slip for about 6 months. I am not aware of the fabric content or what the rubber that makes them non slip is made of. Frankly I don't care. I also don't know what makes them not slip, I assume the rubber. All that matters to me is the BENEFIT of them not slipping.

I am not unique here - the features are mostly irrelevant to your customers. The benefits are what drive that emotional response from click to checkout.
