Protect Yourself
We have been getting A LOT of requests the past few weeks asking for help getting back disabled profiles and pages because people are getting hacked liked crazy.
The process of getting back these accounts is pretty labor intensive and can take a couple weeks of our time. As much as I would love to charge everyone that gets hacked, I really would rather not have everyone dealing with this issue.
Something to keep in mind: we cannot help anyone get a personal account back if a business page/ manager was not also compromised. If your personal account is hacked, but nothing else, we cannot help you through our channels.
All that being said, I have come up with a few tips and tricks to help you secure your account, plus a few other things to make a note of in case you are hacked.
🔸 First off - Facebook will NEVER contact you through messenger, please do not click on any of those phishing messages.
🔸 Make sure your personal profile and instagram accounts in Accounts Center are connected and secured with email, phone number and 2FA
Profile > settings & privacy > accounts center > go through each of the steps to get each profile on one account center
2FA: set up text AND with the google authenticator app - this is the most secure
🔸 Make note of your personal fb profile URL
Example: facebook.com/daniellefewings
🔸 Make note of your personal profile user ID
It is MUCH easier for us to get back a disabled profile if we have this number
🔸 Make sure you are not the only admin with full control on your business page
Same goes for your business manager: make sure your page is connected to one and you have additional admins. You can verify by going here on a desktop.
All of your business assets should be under ONE Business Manager. We often see people having multiple BMs and their page, IG, pixel, catalogs and apps are spread across multiple. If yours are on multiple, please move them over to one.

This is not available to everyone, however I suspect it becomes available when one of your accounts is verified. (This is just a guess, but $14/ month seems worth it to protect your account)
I know not everyone is tech savvy, but if there's something I've listed above you're not sure how to do, please take the time to get it done somehow! Its not worth it to lose your personal profile/ business page/ Instagram/ business manager. 🧡
