Being Flexible W Digital Changes

Here’s the deal - when it comes to social selling things change frequently and we HAVE to adapt to those changes. The key is really staying in line with those changes and not being last to the gate.

So what’s coming? You have to keep in mind that we’re all in the car and Facebook is driving - so we’re headed where they are taking us.

We’ve been attending every Meta hosted e-commerce and small business event we can in the past few weeks and what they keep drilling down on is: Facebook Shops.

We’ve had a few clients even be selected to beta test Shops Ads to compare the checkout rate between their website and shops.

Buckle up babes - let’s talk about how to be successful with Facebook Shops.

  1. Think of it as an additional [FREE] storefront!

    1. Keep the front page new and fresh - you can do this by enabling your New Arrivals collection to appear on the front page.

  2. Use pics that convert. We have a blog post about this HERE, however, ultimately NO STOCK IMAGES. And make sure your products have images from different angles - yes we’d like to see what the back of those jeans looks like.

  3. Popping Product descriptions!! If y’all know me, you know I PREACH the importance of product descriptions all day long. The algorithm isn’t a one way street trying to find customers for your products; it’s a two way street, also trying to find products for its users.

    1. How does it do this? It uses data points from its users to match keywords that appear in your product descriptions.

    2. So if I’m searching for grey Chelsea boots on Nordstrom.com and I click on 3 pairs under $100, boop “Danielle likes grey/ Chelsea boots/ grey Chelsea boots/ under $100” - that’s 4 data points it has to go find me those Chelsea boots.

    3. Guess what - if you have Chelsea boots under $100, you might show up in my feed. If you have grey Chelsea boots under $100, you will almost definitely show up in my feed.

    4. At the bare minimum your product descriptions should answer the who, what, when, where and why. We have a blog post HERE that goes into way more detail on each of those.

  4. Enable checkout on FB and IG. Most customers won’t walk across the room for their credit card. We’re getting used to the efficiency of making a purchase - so now I don’t have to get off the couch nor do I need to leave my doom scrolling on IG to make a purchase. Less friction = less dropped sales.

  5. Shopify is making it WAY easy to stay on top of your products to make sure they meet the standards to show up on your FB Shop! Now you can check the status of those items right in the FB channel on Shopify! We have some pro tips on how to make sure nothing gets rejected in the first place, HERE.

  6. Now you can even manage the returns on your web store! I know there was some reluctancy to enable checkout because the return process was weird, but they recently announced that you can do it from your web store to simplify!

We have been running ads to Facebook Shops and seeing a return. Again, Facebook is driving and we’re just along for the ride. I STRONGLY recommend everyone build out their Facebook Shops ahead of the holiday shopping season and let the algorithm work FOR YOU to gain incremental sales.
