iN tHiS eCoNoMy 🥵
I keep seeing so many comments across social media about the economy being held responsible for lack of sales.
While there is no doubt that interest rates are rising and gas prices are not great; it doesn’t mean all impulse buying and treat yo’self moments have come to a screeching halt.
Y’all one of my clients, in 8 days sold over $41,000 (657 units) of a single style of jeans. The best part - 578 of those orders were NEW customers. 😍
Yes, there was a paid ad behind those jeans and I’m very proud. 💁🏻♀️ But is it only these 657 people who aren’t affected by the economy and can afford a new pair of jeans? Probably not because I have several other examples of clients having month over month growth online. Were they a magical pair of jeans? Definitely not. Or did the paid ad find 657 people who you decided couldn’t shop bEcAuSe oF tHe eCoNoMy?
Just seems so odd to me that y’all are allowing yourselves to suffer and missing sales because you’re more committed to being the banker for your customer instead of their stylist/ friend/ source of joy. ✨
Girls you have a business to run! You have the opportunity to give someone a hit of dopamine when they tap Add To Cart!
The financial situation of your existing and potential customers is 👏🏼 not 👏🏼 your 👏🏼 burden 👏🏼 to 👏🏼 bear 👏🏼
I’ve had a long couple of weeks and I’ve personally spent $$$$ buying a few of my own treat yo’self moments and not once did the economy cross my mind while double clicking Apple Pay.
I will say that even though I run paid ads, I believe organic marketing is very necessary and powerful. However, when you shift the responsibility of your business to the economy, the paid ads will completely railroad you.
Instead of blaming the economy when you don’t hit your sales goal, take a look at how you can be more proactive, direct and assumptive of the sale instead of passive.
💖 Reflect on why you’ve determined your value is based on what you assume people can afford instead of the abundance of dopamine/ joy/ fun/ sparkle that you can deliver through an amazing shopping experience.
And if you have people commenting that they can’t afford to shop bEcAuSe oF tHe eCoNoMy; ask yourself why your ideal customer isn’t someone who seeks joy through tapping Checkout Now despite national interest rates. 🛍
*Those jeans are sold out with the vendor so what style they are is irrelevant 😉
